FAQ’s

  • The Youth Mental Health First Aid course teaches participants how to provide initial support to a young person (aged 12–18) who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received, or the crisis resolves.

Course participants learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in adolescents, how to recognise and respond to an emerging or worsening mental health problem, and the treatments and supports available.

  • Using a practical, evidence-based action plan, course participants learn how to approach a young person they are concerned about and initiate a conversation about those concerns. Participants also learn how to offer initial support and information and how to help a young person to seek professional help or other supports.

Adults who complete the course are, equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to provide someone with mental health information and support when it matters most.

  • Anyone over the age of 18 can attend. The Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is for adults working or living with adolescents (those aged between 12 and 18 years), however, the course can be relevant for those helping people who are a little younger or older. This course is particularly suitable for parents, teachers, sports coaches, and youth workers.

All information regarding the training will be sent in the lead up to the training to the details in which you provide on the fill out form.

** No Return/Refund Policy
Due to the generous support of the Blue Bern Foundation, our Mental Health First Aid Trainings are subsidised to benefit our community. Please note that cancellations made 72 hours after purchase are non-refundable. As these courses are subsidised, a cancellation results in the forfeiture of both the training place and the subsidy allocated for materials, licences, and facilitation costs. In the event of illness, Mindfull Aus will work to transfer you to an alternative training session, but no refund will be issued. We appreciate your understanding.
