** Lunch & Food will NOT be provided, however the office is located in the Main Street with a plethora of available local food options.

The Course itself - Building Wellbeing

  • AD+MH to collaborate with Mindfull Aus to deliver the training. Facilitated by Michael Donehue.

  • The evidence based ‘Mental Wellness: building strategies to deal with mental health’ will be a 3 hour 30 mins in person training, where participants will complete a short survey/quiz using the eLearning platform. This will include 15 minutes of prior eLearning and current mental health knowledge survey which is completed at the start of the training session. This will also provide the respective organisation with an attendance list and show live time a certificate of completion of the bespoke non-accredited mental wellness training.

  • The content of the eLearning and in person training will contain the following:

    o What the role of staff is in regards to mental health issues: This is to refer staff on to the professional services within their respective organisation and local communities.

    Providing details of these services will also be covered in the bespoke training.
    o Strategies in having mental health conversations: How to engage staff to further understand the issues and how the organisation can assist them further (referring on).

    Strong focus on relevant scenarios (videos and outlines).
    o Strategies in asking about suicide: How to ask others about suicide in a positive and effective manner. A simple guideline of the steps to take, questions to ask and the role as a staff member.

    o Scenario’s which staff are likely to face: numerous real life examples of what staff might face and strategies to deal with these situations (using videos and outlines).

    o Imagination Play: using LEGO to engage all participants in creating minifigures of what good and bad mental health looks like. Furthermore, team building activities using LEGO to highlight what unhealthy mental health looks like.

    o Self Care: strategies to look after ourselves and resources available to staff.

    • Bespoke Mental Wellness: dealing with mental health workbook for staff. This workbook will contain numerous content covered in the training as well as further information of support services.

    • 3.5 hours for the Training Program

    • Role of Staff – Understanding when and how to refer colleagues to professional and community services.

    • Conversations that Count – Practical strategies for engaging in mental health discussions, supported by real scenarios and videos.

    • Suicide Awareness – Simple, effective steps to ask about suicide safely and positively.

    • Real-Life Scenarios – Explore situations staff may face and learn practical responses.

    • Imagination Play (LEGO®) – Creative team activities to explore what healthy vs. unhealthy mental health looks like.

    • Self-Care – Tools and resources to look after ourselves while supporting others.

  • Anyone over the age of 18 interested can attend. This training is fantastic in supporting colleagues, friends, family and those within our networks.

    Please note this course is not a therapy or support group, rather it is an education course to learn how to give help and support to others. Increase your understanding and knowledge for mental health challenges .

    Participants who complete this training are eligible to receive a certification upon completion.

Please note that cancellations made 72 hours after purchase are non-refundable. As these courses are subsidised, a cancellation results in the forfeiture of both the training place and the subsidy allocated for materials, licences, and facilitation costs.
